Equorum - Foundation Molds
Foundation molds are the earlier of the Equorum molds, generally created between 2008 and the end of 2009. Foundation molds tend to be on a more massive scale than later models, and some feature rather large heads. Some, but not all of the Foundation molds were replaced by newer, more refined versions.
The first Foundation molds produced were the Ardennes, the Thoroughbred Chaser (later known as Show Hunter Pony), Connemara, Lusitano (later called the Sorraia), Trakehner (later called the Polo Pony), and the Shetland. The very first Equorum made was a chestnut Ardennes named Equorum Grande Garcon who is still owned by Helen Moore.
Production of Foundation models essentially ceased in the summer of 2015 as the molds were too worn and Helen felt the sculptures were not up to the standard of the current molds.
Individual models are usually marked on the bottom of the hoof or paw with the date and came with a registration certificate.
