Of course, if you have hounds, you have to have foxes - though in the land of Julip the fox always gets away and is usually found peacefully sleeping back at the stable.

Vintage & Current Foxes

The two adult foxes - running and sitting - have been with the line since the 1950s, though both molds have been resculpted a few times.

Briefly, in the 1950s to early 60s, there were even two sizes of fox, a large and a small. The large fox is closer to 1:9 than the usual 1:12 scale. Sitting examples of this have been seen, and both sitting and running large foxes were mentioned in the catalogue

In the late 1980s or early 1990s, the vintage Running Fox was replaced by the current mold. The vintage Sitting Fox was likely discontinued in the 1960s/70s.

The current Sitting Fox was sculpted by Richard in January of 2015 and is taller, thinner, and looks to be a more foxy character than the older mold, which is rounder and looks more like a jolly tom cat. Later in 2015 Richard sculpted a pair of fox cubs for the existing adults - one cub is standing while the other is curled in a sleepy ball.
